FedEx just dropped off Will's new Panasonic GH4 at Elevate HQ and his daughter decided she wanted to give it a bit of a water seal/taste test...IT PASSED.
This year we are part of a team that is creating the films for the "Every 15 Minutes" program at Petaluma and Windsor High Schools. It's a program that's designed to illustrate to teenagers, the true implications of drinking and getting behind the wheel...especially when it ends badly.
The short film that is to be created is supposed to be realistic and hit home with some raw emotions, and sometimes graphic depictions of a horrific drunk driving accident involving a group of high school students.
The film consist of a group of kids attending a party when for whatever reason, they decide to get behind the wheel, under the influence. It usually ends up with the kids getting in a car accident with another car and injuring or killing everyone involved. The police, fire department, paramedics, coroner, emergency helicopter are all involved in the film and act as if the incident is real life. The drunk driver gets dragged away to jail with the weight of knowing he/she ruined or ended other peoples lives, the maimed get taken to the hospital in an emergency helicopter and the dead get taken to the coroners for their parents to come and "identify" them as they would have to in real life.
All in all its an incredibly powerful message that is being sent to young people that if you are going to drink, simply DO NOT DRIVE. While it's potentially graphic, and incredibly heart wrenching, its effective and really makes a difference when the kids can SEE just what could happen, and all those that could be affected from their potentially bad decision to drink and drive.
We'll be sure to post the finished projects when they are ready, so check back here soon!
